Anti-Money Laundering / Combating Terrorist Financing

This course is designed to provide the knowledge, understanding and awareness of the business of laundering the proceeds of specified crimes by criminals, and measures to combat the financing of terrorism.  It will prepare participants to apply the Laws, Regulations, Procedures and Guidelines to detect, prevent, and report Money Laundering activities and Terrorist Financing by clients and/or prospective clients to the organisation’s Compliance Officer and to the Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago.

Employment Law and Industrial Relations

This course provides participants with an appreciation of both the common law and the statutory position of the individual employer/employee relationship. The course covers those areas of Employment Law and Industrial Relations that are important in understanding the employment relationship with particular emphasis on the definition of the contract of employment, the formation of the employment relationship, the law governing collective agreements, the role and function of the industrial tribunal and the trade union, and the peculiar distinction between wrongful and unfair dismissal.

The course also provides an overview of the Industrial Relations climate, the rights and responsibilities of employers and workers, a review of the major pieces of legislation that impact on the employment relationship in Trinidad and Tobago, with particular emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and what amounts to good industrial relations practices.

Building an Effective Compliance Program

This Course Covers Topics Such As:

  • Regulatory Environment and Structure, with emphasis on the role and powers of the regulator;
  • The role of the Compliance Officer;
  • Drafting the Compliance Officer’s contract; and drafting of the Compliance Report;
  • Risk Management – External Risks vs. Internal Risks;
  • Designing and internal compliance system;
  • Managing the risk of money laundering and terrorist financing;
  • Fraud awareness and prevention;

Fraud Awareness Prevention & Investigation

This course addresses challenges and solutions related to fraud and financial institutions, including cyber frauds and privacy issues. Relevant regulations, such as Anti-Money Laundering Laws and practices, the Financial Institutions Act, and the Securities Act 2012 will be addressed along with related and applicable anti-fraud solutions.

This Debt Collection program is designed to develop customer relations through which organizations will recover their delinquent accounts as quickly and economically as possible, while encouraging the formerly delinquent customers to patronize the organization with future good business.
